Linguistic Description of Data

01 Jul 09:00:00 to 01 Jul 09:00:00 European Centre for Soft Computing

On 1st July 2015 Gracian Trivio, ECSC PI introduced the project at the 16th World Congress of the International Fuzzy Systems Association (IFSA) and the 9th Conference of the European Society for Fuzzy Logic and Technology (EUSFLAT) (International Conference; Opening Ceremony presentation) that took place at Gij³n, Spain, during the Special Session on Linguistic Description of Data: A Field for the Convergence between Soft Computing and Linguistics. The main aim of this session was to gather researchers from Soft Computing and uncertainty management, Heuristics and Metaheuristics, Natural Language Generation or Processing,Intelligent Data Analysis and Data mining, as well as related fields, in order to present on the current state and advances of the field and, most important, to discuss on how such different approaches and views can converge and complement each other for the challenging tasks of building new real impact systems and applications that are endowed with the capability of linguistically describing the large amount of information that is being generated in many areas, providing each specific user with relevant information that remarks the relevant and hides the irrelevant according to her/his specific goals, context and needs. This goal is related with the intelligent analysis of smart meter data, and the definition of a feedback framework, of NATCONSUMERS.
